Upgrading over the upgrade to 2.6
-
I posted a post about my site running slow starting 24 hours ago. I have a basic text site using WordPress 2.6. I have not made any changes to my site in over a week and my site just started taking upwards of a minute to load yesterday.
I have performed due diligence (as best I can) with regards to checking to see if my WordPress blog has been hacked/compromised in any way and could not find anything out of the ordinary.
I have placed a trouble call with my shared hosting and they are currently “investigating it”.
With that being said, I am wondering if I were to reinstall WordPress 2.6, it might fix the problem? Could code somehow become corrupt without the outside influence of a hacker/lame hosting company like Godaddy?
How would I go about resintalling WordPress 2.6…..on the off chance someone had a failed hack attempt at my site and whatever was changed can be reinstated by reinstalling WordPress 2.6…..
Do I just download a new copy of WordPress 2.6 and then log into my FTP and copy over the files in the same manner as if I was updating from 2.5?
thanks
