  • This sounds like APC caching on your host. Can you please contact your web host to have them clear the APC cache for your site?

If they did that and the same issue occurs immediately afterwards, please check your PHP and server logs and post all relevant information here.

    Thanks!

Wondering if this is related in any way to Striderhosting’s issue? Any feedback is appreciated.

My client updated Yoast SEO today to 3.3.0 and got the WSoD. I’ve deactivated the plugin via FTP and have been able to get back into the dashboard and get the site to show up again. When trying to activate the plugin now, it gives the following fatal error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/home4/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home4/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php on line 47

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home4/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/php/54/usr/lib64:/usr/php/54/usr/share/pear’) in /home4/xxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php on line 47

Again, any feedback is very much appreciated. Thank you.

@ deevee100, that’s a different error message and probably means something went wrong during updating. Files seem to be missing.

Can you please try uploading the plugin through FTP, to make sure all files are there?
If needed, you can find a guide here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-update-my-premium-plugin/

Close – Opcache in PHP 5.6. Clearing the cache after the upgrade removed the error.
