Basically on the left side bar of the dashboard, it says “Membership” but under the Plugins List, it says “Membership 2”. So I assume that I’m still using the original “Membership” and not “Membership 2”. The options are also different than “Membership 2”. Under “Membership,” I have Membership, All Members, Access Levels, Subscription Plans, URL Group, Remote Pings, Payment Gateways, and Options

    Hey there billpoker,

    Hope you’re well today ??

You are right about that being old version of Membership plugin, this had to be done for the sake of users that were upgrading from old version of the plugin and it will probably be changed in one of the following plugin updates.

With that being said once you install the plugin you should be prompted with the upgrade message, please see screenshot https://screencast.com/t/YECIUGIfY.

You should be able to upgrade by clicking on the link pointed in the screenshot.

    Hope this helps ??

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply. I did see the screen at first, but I selected, “Remind me in a few days.” So now I’m in “Membership 1”, but I would like to try “Membership 2” and can’t get that screen back to switch. I tried removing and reinstalling the plugin but the screen never came back. I tried reinstalling both from plugin screen and uploading via FTP.

I also tried the following (https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/complete-uninstall-of-membership-plugin) for a complete uninstall before re-installing again.

    Hey again billpoker,

Reinstalling the plugin won’t help here as this is saved in the database.

“Remind me in a few days” = display message again after 7 days so you have two options here:

    1. wait for 7 days.
    2. edit database

If you’re willing to edit database, I’d strongly suggest to make a backup first just in case something goes wrong. Once done go to wp_options table and first search for “m2_use_new_version” in that table, if there is no such option please insert one. All you have to do is add:

    1. for option name add: m2_use_new_version
    2. for value add: true

This should automatically run the upgrade process, you can skip the import options as this is a new site.

    Hope this helps ??

    Cheers,
    Bojan
