    Hi:

I am running a site with Elementor Pro & Happy Addons (and a few other plugins like WP Recipe Maker). I upgraded this site to WordPress 5.6 and found that when editing Elementor templates the side menu started acting up.

If I click the arrow, to return to the menu with Site Settings, Exit to Dashboard and other buttons, it was blank. Those buttons were not viewable. I could use all other areas of Elementor (adding new widgets to the page), editing sections, etc. but I could not exit properly.

I deactivated all plugins (except for Elementor Pro) and tried to edit a template again. The exit menu showed up as normal! When I go back and only activate Happy Addons (along with Elementor Pro, of course) I found that the problem shows up again.

I use Page Builder as my theme (child theme, no custom CSS or other programming applied) and am running Elementor Pro v.3.0.8 & Elementor Free v.3.0.14. I assume there might be a conflict with Happy Addons and WordPress 5.6 (this problem does not exist on a similar site I am running that I have not upgraded from WordPress 5.5.3).

    Hope these details help.

  • I have the exact problem on a new website and contacted Happy Addons about this. If I get an answer I will keep you in touch and hopefully you’ll do the same.

I think I figured out what the issue is, because I had another client’s site break this morning (their top navigation disappeared). They are running very different plugins but all still have Elementor.

I found after some digging that this is might all be tied to the jQuery version that is being packaged with the newest WordPress. It broke something different on each site, but in researching I found this plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/) allows me to rollback to the previous version of jQuery and everything is working again.

Of course, running older versions is not recommended, but I can not imagine teams are not on top of this to get it fixed and make sure various plugins (Happy Addons and others) are compatible with the changes in WordPress 5.6

Hope it helps you…and anyone else having this issue.

    Hello:

Just updated my site that was experiencing issues and yes, things are working well now. I am still running WP5.6, and I turned off the jQuery plugin (so I am running the version packaged with WP5.6) and Happy Addons is no longer causing issues. Thanks so much for taking care of thing so quickly.

Wish the best for everyone else!
