Upgraed to 2.6, now get blacnk page….

  • I upgraaed to 2.6 – I created a new directory, unpacked all the files from the tarball, copied over my plugins and themes, and now I get — nothing.

    So I ran the upgrade script. It ran and now I get — nothing.

    Humph. I ran wp-admin/admin.php. I get — nothing.

    Blank page. No errors in the log files. I removed my cutline theme, thinking that might be it. Nothing. Blank page.

    I look at the source code – I get nothing. AFAICT WP2.6 is sending out nothing but totally empty pages.

    Sorry I can’t be more help but I am stumped. Where do I start?

  • When i tried to set up 2.6 on a fresh install i got blank pages wherever i tried to go. Tried to look on the page source but it was blank. So i deleted the directory and then uploaded 2.5.1 and it worked fine.

    Try putting /wp-admin/install.php in your browser and see if that works better.

    This may have been the same thing that happened to me on a first time install.

    Everything installed fine but when I went to try and log in, once I entered my login and password I got a blank.

    I ended up instaling version 2.5 then upgrading to 2.6 and it worked.

    Well, I reverted back to 2.3.3, and everything is fine.

    I tried installing 2.5.1 with just default settings – same blank page result. I guess I can try 2.4 but I’m beginning to suspect something in my database isn’t right.

    Is there any way to turn on debugging or verbosity to see what may be happening?

    I fiddled around quite a bit and then it started working…. I have no idea what I did differently; I just tried several times back and forth between 2.3.3, 2.5, and 2.6, and now it’s working. I really wish I knew what I did.
