Upload Error Failed to write file to disk

I’m running into an error “Failed to write file to disk.” while I was trying to upload files. I’ve WordPress multisite installed on a linux server. I was reading about the error message many suggested adding upload_tmp_dir to php.ini which I found in /etc folder and updated it but that didn’t help either. Can somebody help me fix the problem?
