  • Should be same way as the image files. Are you having a specific issue or what?

I was trying to upload with an article and it was only accepting image files. It said, “

Unable to create directory /hsphere/local/home/aahost/windsormath.ca/wp-content/uploads/2007/04. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
    Back to Image Uploading

” so I think I am in the wrong place.

No, you’re doing fine. The error is telling you to check something. Have you done it? Is wp-content and uploads writable by the server?

Hi, yes, I am having a problem – got so far – the directory is chmodded to 777 but the upload still does not work
    any ideas?

FCKedit says: you have no permissions to upload / create folder.. which is strange since the parent folder is chmod to 777..

Might be a PHP safe mode issue. I had to turn my ‘safe mode’ off to allow the creation of new folders – upload worked, but it wouldn’t allow creation of folders/direcoties. All depends on your apache/PHP config I’d guess.

ok then, how could i turn it off ?
i do the same as the guys did, changed the chmod to 777.
