upload folder limits the number of files it can contain

Hello,

I’m in the process of creating a big woocommerce website. After 60.000 products I ran into a problem because it was no longer possible to upload files.

My host told me that there is a limit on the number of files you can have in the upload folders of wordpress. I removed a lot of them (from uploads/2020/04 in this case) in the hope to store them elsewhere on the server.

So my question is whether I can create a folder on the server without a restriction on the number of files? And then change the image file location in the database. I tested this with one article but that didn’t work.
