• When I try to upload an image, I get the following error message: “{Image Name}” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory D:\Hosting\6742457\html/wp-content/uploads/2015/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

The last time I uploaded an image was in Dec 2014 and had no trouble. Please advise.

  • Check the file permissions on the server –

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_File_Permissions

Ask your hosts if doing that does not solve the issue.

I am having the same problem – i’ve looked at the Changing_File_Permissions but still have not gotten any closer to fixing this particular issue

Checking the .htaccess file – what do I need to look for?

I’ve checked the wp-content/uploads file permissions and they are set – I read to deactivate gravity form which did remove the error previously encountered but now even though I can upload it says the following:

Unable to create directory uploads/2015/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

You probably moved your wordpress install right? Modify your upload location in “Settings->Media”.

    suffering same prob…:(

its parent directory writable by the server?
