    I have just update to 4.1.1. However it shows error when I upload image in “add post” or even upload in media library. Therefore, I cannot insert images when I “add post”.

    Also, the media library cannot show the upload images in grad mode. (It can show in list mode)

    After I upload in media library and it shows error, I found the images is uploaded in library list mode.

    Please help, thank you

    – check your uploads path in Dashboard > Settings > Media, make sure it’s not pointing to a different path . . . normally this would be blank.
    – confirm that the wp-content/uploads directory and those files exist.
    – Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777.
    Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again (very important for security reasons!) and check that everything still works OK
    – If the above steps do not help, try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin.

    Thank for reply.

    The problem is still present.

    It was no problem in 4.1 . Error appear after update to 4.1.1

    so sad.

    I am experiencing the same issue after upgrading to 4.1.1. Each image seems to upload and then gives an error in a red box. The image is never uploaded. I upgraded after the fix was put in place, meaning I attempted to upgrade after the initial 4.1.1 release, but after seeing an empty page in the WordPress admin section, I waited for that bug to be fixed.

    I have the very same problem as OP any update on this

    @jaygaulard,
    @meltdown Studio,

    My suggestion would be to start your own thread to get full attention to your specific issue. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Thus one problem, on one setup is not indicative of the functionality and reliability of an application as a whole. So, to get the best attention to your specific issue as you deserve, please review how and where to post in this forum: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post

    We are having this same problem.
    I updated from 3.8.5 to 4.1.1.
    I uploaded a couple of images first and they went up smoothly.
    Then I updated wpml-plugin and then the media library broke:
    when I tried uploading a picture it multiplied into over 700 identical pictures that filled my library and I couldn’t stop the uploading process.

    I read that WPML media plugin might be responsible so I disabled it.

    Now when I upload something it seems to be uploading but it doesn’t show up in the library.

    So at first it was WPML but now it seems to be WordPress.
    Please help!

    I figured it out, it was the DHVC Woocommerce Products Layouts that was causing my problem, after deavtivating, everything worked fine again, i have emailed the author about this.

    So its seems like a plugin issue after the 4.1.1 updated that everone is having

    Thanks

    Hi,
    I have just updated my website to WordPress version 4.1.1 and now can’t upload images. I need to do this urgently to promote my new music. Is there a fix for this problem yet?

    – have you discussed this issue with your hosting provider?
    – also, check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

    I checked this with Blacknight, my hosting company. They asked me to change the following setting: Home >> Hosted domains >> $DOMAIN >> Website configuration >> Edit >> Set PHP 5.3.3. This worked and I can now upload images. My settings were on “Apache php 5.3.3” but I changed it to just “php 5.3.3”. I really don’t know what this means but it worked! If you are with Blacknight, try this. It may work with other hosts too. Not sure.
