I have a site that has about 6000 portraits (photos)in all the albums combined. Each photo is named by a person’s first and last name.they are searchable by first/last name.

I want to invite each person to search for their photo and then have them upload a sentence to one or two of the custom fields.

I dont want them to add any more photos, just find their photo and then upload their sentence so it is attached to one of their photo’s custom fields (which i will display in the description).

Is there a way to have an upload feature for just this? One that has a measure of security too, so that other people cannot upload on theirs?

    Let me know.

PS It is not ready yet, one can not yet switch off the editability of name and description, and i also will add the tags field.

ha ha , yes… becuase i need to prevent them from deleting the photo or altering the photo description.

also, is it possible to have a more customizable “edit” button?

i think it is small and hard to find. Perhaps if i could center it or change the wording from “edit” to whatever else i wanted. Is there a simple place for me to change this wording?

I might change it to “Enter My Custom Information” or somethign depending on my project.

The button reads ‘Send’. Did you try using the theme css in Table VII-D2.3?

i meant the “edit” link that appears under on right side of photo. (has delete next to it too)

The send link is fine, its the edit link that i am referring to

also, the css ticked or unticked is same either way.

when do you expect to remove “name” and “decription” fields and the “delete” link?

another minor thing, in the popup fields it adds slashes \\\ when you use apostrophy’s etc.

I love Children\\\’s Hospital because they took good care of me when i was sick.

And when sending, it erases much of the current description area.

The current dev version ( 6-4-11-007 ) fixes the slashes, it’s a button now, and the del link is only visible for admin and the owner of the photo if the fe edit fetaure is on.

DO NOT use this under thumbnails ( II-D17 ) this is not yet consistent.

Also, the button text must still be made editable.
I have no much time today to finalize, but you can work with it i think.

And when sending, it erases much of the current description area.

    Can you give an example?

it works, thanks, the erase bug is gone. This is great. Great job.

    Minor preferences would be –

    1. might be to make the input fields text-boxed in case the person’s input is longer then one line… or give the option because some custom fields will be longer and some shorter. But that is a minor thing.

    2. If i could change little titled things like “edit photo information” on the popup to “Answer these questions”… or whatever i wanted, but again these are not that important.

and rather then “edit photo 5322” it could say “edit photo John Smith” (the photo name rather then the photo number) but again this is only a minor thing.

OH…. one more thing, how do i hide/undide tags from showing as an input field on the popup?

    Thread Starter johnny mosaic

    (@johnny-mosaic)

i see the tags box, disregard tags question. thanks

    Thank you for your donation.

Pls update to the current dev version ( 6.4.11.008 )
Make sure you have either de-activate – activate, OR run Table VII-A1: Setup, in case you ftp the files over an existing active plugin.

See Table VII-D2.5 and 2.6 for changing button text and popup caption.

The links under the thumbnails behave consistent with the buttons under the slideshow.

I added a cancel button to the dialog.

The custom fields are one liners by design. However, they may be as long as you want. If printed in a narrow container, they will word wrap normally. If I make it textareas, and you open it again, the layout will be changed due to reformatting to one line, so that is not a good idea, I think.

I widened the dialog to 500 px, you can also drag it wider to lengthen the input fields.

Thanks… By the way, what does the css box do? Will it allow me to change the style of the form? Or the look of the form?
