We are unable to upload any plugins and themes that are larger than 400 KB, which we had no problems with before.

When we try it through WordPress it just stays on the loading screen, and when we try it through the HostGator File Manager we get this error message:

“unknown Bytes complete FAILED!:Unknown error or disk quota exceeded.”

Our Disc Usage is 2263.49 MB out of 999,999.00 MB so it’s not the disc quota.

We’ve contacted HostGator support and they are able to upload plugins and themes fine on their end, they can’t see any problem.

The problem is with all plugins and themes that are larger than 400KB.
This is a new problem as there were no issues in the past.
Plugins that I have installed with no problem previously do not upload.

Do you know what this problem could be and how to fix it?

    Plz plz help!

  • That error message is coming from your hosts – not WordPress. Go back to them. The issue is at their end.

It seems the problem was with my Firefox browser, as I was able to upload through my Google Chrome browser. I may have too many firefox plugins or conflicting firefox plugins.
