• When uploading new items to the Media Library the upload progress bar appears to be displaying at the bottom of the screen (end of list of media items) instead of at top – meaning that it cannot be seen because the library contains many items. Which in turn means if I am uploading, say, a couple of hundred images I cannot see progress – why is progress bar not displaying at top, as it always used to? Is there a setting for this?

  • The recent versions of WordPress show a progress bar for each uploaded file separately as a media item at the top of the Media library.

    Your site is probably using either an old version of WordPress or a theme/plugin that modifies the functionality of the WordPress Media library. You might try the following actions:
    – update the WordPress to the latest version (backup the site before doing this);
    – check the site’s plugins;
    – contact the WordPress author to double check the WordPress theme’s functionality.

    Hopefully, any of these actions will help you.

    When I view the media library as a grid and click “Add New”, the grid remains and the upload progress bar appears at the bottom of the grid — which is typically out of view without scrolling down.

    When I view the media library as a list and click “Add New”, the list disappears and the upload progress bar is visible just below the drag and drop upload area.

    So, either the grid should disappear when uploading, like the list does, or the upload progress bar for the grid should appear in the first box rather than under the grid.

    Wordpress 4.9.4
    PHP 7.1.15
