Upload Successful but Video Not Ingested

When using the plugin in a local WP environment, I have successfully synced up an account “source”. When I upload videos directly to BrightCove, I see them immediately in the plugin. When uploading the same video through the upload feature in the plugin, I get a successful message, however there is an error on the BrightCove side — “Problem processing your request”.
There is a video id returned and the video name and date stamp appear in the Brightcove Videos view in the plugin. However, the video length and thumbnail are not present.
It appears that the video file does not make it to BrightCove because it is a file with 0 bypes. I can see the video file in the uploads directory in my local env. Could this be a permissions issue? Any suggestions?
