Upload to Dropbox Hit or Miss

    I have the file submission uploading to my dropbox but some submissions make it through and others don’t. When is fails It says it is done uploading (progress bar finishes) but the page does not refresh with the confirmation text and no files reach Dropbox or the WP uploads file. File sizes range from 1 MB to 20 MB. No error message or error pages are displayed so clients are unsure if their files have been submitted successfully or not.

    The larger the file the longer its going to take to upload to dropbox. Once the file gets uploaded to your host/server, It then needs to be uploaded to dropbox which takes about the same amount of time. I have been working on a better way to inform people of the status but have not had allot of time.

    Yes, I understand. I have walked three customers through the process after they reported a failure and they mention it appears to be uploading but after about 30 seconds it stops like the upload has timed out. Nothing.

    You might need to change the max_execution_time for PHP. The default is 30 seconds.

    The max_execution_time is set at 300. It is failing within the first minute or two.

    Max file size is set at 64 mb.

    Can you tell me what version of PHP your host/server is running?

    I just updated my wordpress to 3.5 last night and have not gotten to test the functionality of this plugin yet, though I noticed numerous plugins I have are not compatible with 3.5. I will let you know what I find.

    I’ve created a private page to test out the file upload. One third of uploads failed after they reached 100% and said communicating with the site address. No page refresh or success/failure notification. The larger the file (above 10Mb)the more likely to fail but not an absolute factor. Sometimes the same file will go through when submitted a second time. Tried different file types and no correlation there. I’ve tested it on a dummy sight with default theme and no plug-ins and same problems.
