Problem still happened after I disconnected UP from Google Drive and reauthenticated it.

Doesn’t seem to relate to authentication because UP can scan GDrive to refresh its list of remote backups.

    WP version 5.6

    PHP version 7.3.19

  • I also just started having this issue starting Jan11. I deactivated Simple Calendar, since that is the only google plugin related plugin that I have installed. Let’s see if it will backup now.

Confirmed that a) Updraft+ backs up if I disable Simple Calendar, b) that last 2 versions, going back to 1.16.43 also fail. Trouble is from Simple Calendar (though itself working fine). As others mentioned, I don’t think Updraft+ should have dependency on SC.

If someone from Updraft can tell us which versions of Google APIs you use in your plugin, it could help us!

It seems you’re using a very old version < 2.x of Google Client.

Send us an email to [email protected] if necessary to see how can we fix this ASAP.

    Thx

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus does not have a dependency on Simple Calendar.

UpdraftPlus uses an older version of the Google SDK that supports PHP 5.2 and we only load this when needed.

Other Plugins that use the newest version of the Google SDK and load it on every page (loading over ours when we need it) causes the above error.

Ideally the other plugins only load their version of the Google SDK right before they need to use it, so it should be reported to them.

We are in the process of renaming our version of the SDK to prevent future issues like this, while still keeping our support for PHP 5.2.

Hopefully a release will be out soon.

    Best Wishes,

    Ashley

    Hi,

we have published an update to avoid any conflicts with other plugins using the same API as us.

Please update to version 4.3.0.2 (Free and PRO).

    Thanks

I confirm, updating SeoPress to version 4.3.0.2 (PRO) resolved the issue,
    No more conflicts.
The updraft backup has been uploaded to Google Drive.

    Thanks Benjamin Denis

    @ewan-norman Super!

Disabled Simple Calendar and now backing up with UpdraftPlus works. I do need Simple Calendar to work, though …

I had the same problem and updating UpdraftPlus and Simple Calendar to their last versions solved the problem. The backup uploaded well on Google Drive. Thank you!
