Upload zip file

    Hi there,

    Can your plugin upload zip files (and unzip them?)

    I need a plugin do the following:

    • allow registered users to upload zip files to a post (I can have a plugin to control the user groups already)
    • zip files will then be auto unzipped in a pre-specified folder
    • and a copy of zip file also saved for download from post
    • the user can then navigate inside the unzipped version of the folder to find a file, and a link to this file will be attached to the post

    – when a user is viewing the post, they can see the content of the zipped folder by clicking on the link, and also have the option to download the zip.

    Sorry. File Away does not do this, and that would be potentially dangerous.

    Yeah I guess it would, but the file uploader would be kept hidden, only for a registered user group (new users would not be able to register).

    What would make it more dangerous than the file upload you provide? (I’m fairly new to WP).

    You don’t know what’s in a zip file until you unpack it. They can put malicious scripts in a zip file, and it’s fine so long as it remains unpacked on the server. Once unpacked, they could then use those scripts.

    Regardless, File Away doesn’t have an auto-unpack, or even a manual unpack feature.

    I’ve just had another thought – does the plugin upload folders that are not zipped?.. maybe this will be a better route to go down, something like that, or ftp.
