• I have recently switched to godaddy.com with a premium hosting account. I have multiple domains under this plan and I am using wordpress on several sites.

I have a main site with an alias site under it that I uploaded wordpress to and then uploaded several plugins and a theme to the alias site. My ftp manager shows the plugins and theme in the correct places but I cannot see them or use them in wordpress and they do not show up when I use Dreamweaver to look at the remote site.

Any suggestions on what I may be overlooking or have done wrong

    Thanks BQ

  • where is the blog you are having trouble with .. whats the url? and please explain precisely what you mean when you say “have a domain .. with an alias underneath it” …

If they (themes and plugins) arent showing up inside your wp-admin then there is only one possibility — you didnt upload them properly — right directories, with the right structure

Forgive me but I am an extreme newcomer to using web sites with apps such as wordpress. I’ll try to be clearer.

Under the premium hosting plan I have with godaddy.com I have several domaains such as:

    usbarbecue.us
    varsityphoto.us
    tigeronthered.com
    fullcontact.us

Each of these are listed on the hosting plan as an alias under usbarbecue.us.

Using godaddy.com supplied resources that allow me to upload wordpress and other applications through their metropolis community I uploaded wordpress to fullcontact.us and usbarbecue.us separately using each domains respective domain address.

    Example: usbarbecue.us/fullcontact.us/wordpress/

I was instructed to upload themes into the themes folder of the installed wordpress files and the plugins into the wordpress plugin folder.

I uploaded the plugins using WS_FTP Pro. as follows:

    ftp://fullcontact.us/wordpress/wp-content/plugins

I installed the the theme as follows:

    ftp://fullcontact.us/wordpress/wp-content/themes

When I access my domain with FTP Pro I can see the files were uploaded into the correct folders. They are there but for some reason they are not showing up in wordpress.

Hope this helps explain what I did better. If not let me know what else you need.

    Appreciate the time and help.
