You appear to have replaced the WordPress address at Settings -> General with an example, probably from documentation somewhere:

https://your.domain.name/the/path/

This is why your site isn’t working, because it’s trying to load all of its resource files from https://your.domain.name/the/path/

You’ll need to make sure that both the siteurl and home values in the database reflect your actual domain and actual path to the files (which actually appears to be just your domain with no /the/path/ stuff).

You’ll find phpMyAdmin in your hosting account’s control panel.

When im trying to access my workpress dashboard with the (domain.co.uk/wp-access) and i try to log in which looks like a strange screen and not the normal wordpress login one, i then get problem loading page, and the URL shows this – https://your.domain.name/the/path/wp-login.php

any ideas?

Have migrated a site to hostgator. Site is up but I cannot login. I have tried every remedy I could find but still no Joy.

When I get the login box I have error up top stating “cannot modify header” usual with mention of plugins. At wits end.

Any suggestions or advise?

Sorry – no mention of plugins. But even renamed plugins to disable but still no joy! Yikes

Hi jeff.

Yeah i had already sorted that out thanks to your earlier help. But what seems to happen is that when ever i go to my (domain/wp-login.php) to log onto my dashboard board to make changes, the site and home url change back to how it was set before i changed them to my actual domain site.

Ok, so you can verify that they are correct in the database, but when you log in, they change.

If they are changed in the database too, make sure you don’t have anything like this in your theme functions.php file: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL#Edit_functions.php

If they are not changed in the database and are still correct in the database, make sure you don’t have anything like this in wp-config.php: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL#Edit_wp-config.php
