• Hi,
I’ve installed a fresh 2.9.1, but I’ve encountered something that is not on my other WordPress 2.9.1 installation.

When I want to install a new theme, or plug-in, I get the following dialog:

    Connection Information

To perform the requested action, connection information is required.

Then it asks for my hostname, username, password and a radio-button for an FTP connection.

I can fill all the information correctly, but the uploads never happens. It just freezes in the middle of the upload process.

Uploading the plug-ins manually through FTP works fine though.

    Thanks.

The thing is, if I try to install a theme (which always contains a lot of files), 2-3 files are always uploaded (I can check this through FTP), but the upload will always stop in the middle.

I’ve even tried deleting the whole wordpress folder and doing a clean install to solve this, but still unsolved.

What I find to be unusual is how it asks for the Connection Information, whereas my other wordpress installation, on a different server (yet the same 2.91 version) doesn’t ask for that.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Okay,
    I got the following message:

    Downloading install package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wp-pagenavi.2.61.zip.

Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file /usr/www/users/tingmike/wp/wp-content/wp-pagenavi.tmp because Permission denied in /usr/www/users/tingmike/wp/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 184

Download failed. Could not create Temporary file

I’ll try to check out the file.php.

Okay, I’ve set wp-content folder permission to 777, and the error disappears, but the uploader still get stucks in the middle.
