uploading a 3rd party theme

  • From themeforest. Trying to upload the ZIPPED folder but I get an error message… “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” Even though when I unzip the folder and inspect there is a “style.css” document included. Any thoughts??

  • Are you uploading the actual zipped folder?

    Usually you should unzip the folder then upload it to the wp-content / themes folder, within the folder you just uploaded you’ll need to ensure there’s a file called index.php and style.css at the top level before WordPress will pick it up.

    As you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.
