  • I just did it in two steps (everything but the media library, and then the media library), but now I have a file that is 1.2 GB…how to I import that?

    @najtrox – yes, the way we are going to overcome the problem with prefixes is that we are going to export your database with our own ServMask prefix and on import, we are going to replace this custom prefix with the prefix of your WordPress install where you are importing the package. Bobby is finishing the implementation and we will release it soon.

    @nathanwells,
    We are limiting this version of the plugin to up to 512MB.
    The commercial version has upload limit of up to 5GB.
    We are still finding what a good ration for this limit is.
    You can signup for our beta and receive a free license for the commercial version when we release it (in the next few days).

    Thanks for the reply. The download of 1.2GB failed anyway, so it wouldn’t have worked. Perhaps it needs to be broken into smaller parts for most servers (I’ve found large backup files from my old server tend to time-out). I signed up. But I am also trying to see if just using wget can get all my images to my new server.

    @nathanwells,
    You are right, timeouts could be a problem especially for large files. We will look into a solution to this – perhaps saving the file on the server and password protecting it with a random 11+ character password. Then you can download it using your download manager or ftp.

    The other solution that I can think of is to enable direct import/export from one server to another thus omitting the need to download the file on your local computer. In that case we can upload the files into chunks of 1MB each. – this solution is already in development.

    v1.2.1 of All in One WP Migration has been released. It fixes that problem you were experiencing with DB prefixes.

    Let me know how it goes.

    I just installed a new instance of wordpress on my new host and changed the wp_ prefix before running the 1.2.0 version of your plugin.
    That made everything go smoothly. Got everything up and running now, so I don’t need to try the 1.2.1. Might try it out anyway though, but nice to know that it fixes the prefix thing.

    i just tried the plugin. size was 200mb. i exported and imported. it uploaded 100%, but no content was restored.
