• When I upload media, the details of the image are inserted in the mysql table with the posts. Wouldn’t better to have a new table in mysql just for the uploads?

  • Let me use my site for a few examples:

    https://guff.szub.net/2006/01/29/woof/fire-dog

That’s an attachment (i.e. upload) on the post “Woof.” If I wanted to, I could have allowed commenting to it, etc. like this:

    https://szub.net/visuals/wallpapers/divergent-cartography/

Although it may *appear* like a normal post, that too is just a file attachment (to my ‘Wallpapers’ Page).

Your point is valid, and I could probably come up with a few arguments for how attachments might benefit from their own table. But there are some interesting side effects to treating file attachments as post-like objects in WordPress.

ok, thanks for your reply i understand your point of view now. You are right now that I think wordpress is for blogging, if I would like a more specialized approach for medias I could use a gallery and integrate them.
