• Hi,

I apologise if this is a previously covered topic, I have seen similar threads but none give me a solution to the issue. I’ve not long been using WP (maybe 6mths?) and I’m a bit of a noob at hosting my own site so please go easy on the jargon as I probably won’t have a clue what you mean! Sorry!

I’ve previously had no problems uploading images via my WP dashboard and attaching to my posts and publishing etc however, today, I’ve drafted a post then gone to upload my media and am getting the below error when I either do a bulk upload or even individual.

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 59244544) (tried to allocate 13056 bytes) in /homepages/21/d316959749/htdocs…..

I googled the issue and it indicated this was an issue with my host and I have spoken to them on numerous occasions. I was told eventually by them that I needed to upload media via Filezila rather than WP dashboard as I had exceeded my 30m limit for php on my package (I’m with 1and1). I tried this and could not get the files to appear in my library so again googled and a plugin seemed to be the cure, so I downloaded ‘Add file from server’. It recognises that the media is there but when I import it I still get the same error as above.

How am I supposed to add images to my posts?

    Help, please!

  • Try disabling all of your plugins before you upload any media. Once it’s uploaded, activate your plugins once again.
