I don’t know if it’s an issue with this plugin but recently I updated WordPress & Woocommerce to the latest stable versions with the latest plugin versions. I went to import some changes to existing products using the internal import method, as I’ve done millions of times before. But this time, after selecting the file, checking the Existing products box and clicking continue, the page just refreshes back to where I started as if I never selected the file. It doesn’t matter if I select the file from my computer or from a place on the server, it does the same thing. When I try to upload a plugin I get an Error -200 whatever that means. I can’t upload any pictures to the media library either. I’ve disabled plugins, rollbacked updates to various plugins etc. My memory limit is 1024 on both wordpress and php so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’m running php 7.4 and I can’t update to 8.0 because some of my plugins aren’t quite compatible yet. I’ve been all over the internet and I can’t find anything that would resolve it. Anyone have any ideas??

If you deactivate Media Library Folders, does the issue go away?

I fixed what that problem was doing for the backend of the website but now I have a different issue. I have a Frontend Submission form that other admins can fill out and when they go to select an image to attached to the post we get this error “Sorry, you are not allowed to attach files to this post.”

Again, we can upload images on the backend, it’s just using the Frontend form that won’t work. This form is part of the Modern Events Calendar to allow people to submit events for review with a featured image. Other contact forms throughout the website work fine. I’ve reached out to the folks at MEC and they say it’s a plugin conflict ??

You should open the browser console window (you can do a Google search to find out how to do this) and then try uploading a file. Check the console window for any errors that show during the upload. Also, make sure the file uploaded is of a type allowed by WordPress and its size is not greater than the maximum file upload size.

If you see an error, try posting it here.

I’ve uploaded image files, .png successfully for a long time with zero issues till recently. Again, I can upload the exact same file on the backend, just not the frontend form without the error. When I try to upload and get an error on the console that reads

Now I have a BIGGER problem. Half my images are my website aren’t even showing up. It’s like they aren’t there. I got into the Media Library and the name of the file is there but it’s acting like there is no image to display. I went into my cpanel and into my file manager and I can see the files there and view them, but for some reason the website acts like they can’t be displayed. What is going on?!?!

I’m unable to get your site to load in order to check the images. You could try deactivating some plugins to see if any of them are preventing the site from loading.

Well it kinda comes up now, but it’s completly messed up. I can navigate the backend of the website dashboard fairly easily but something has gone very wrong and I have no idea what ?? I might have to do a full site restore at this rate cause I am out of options

In the Chrome browser, part of the page loaded, but without a style sheet (CSS file). You should talk to your host provider. It could be an issue with the server.

They won’t help me. It’s hosted at GoDaddy but it’s on it’s on VPS server and they wont do anything if its on its own server. I can’t even restore from a backup either cause I get some weird error on my cpanel Error: PID 1675: The cPanel Server operation timed out at cpsrvd.pl line 670. I’m at a loss and there isn’t anyone to ask for help

Ok, the site is back up and I’m back to where I started. Unable to upload any images to any Frontend Submission forms. I can upload images in the Media Library but still getting Sorry, you are not allowed to attach files to this post.

I’m confused why I would be getting this. If anyone can offer any help please let me know. This is with a working website now

Hi, I think you have a permissions problem. The admin has a higher rol then someone that is at your frontend. If a user has to login before submitting, you need to check the rol this person has. If the rol does have upload permissions, then you need to check your folder permissions, where the user images are stored

Only the pro version of the plugin allows uploading images on the front end of the site. If are using the pro version then we are not allowed to reply to questions about paid plugins on www.ads-software.com. You will need to log in to maxgalleria.com and post your questions there.

I don’t have the Pro version, Ive never had it. I was able to use this Frontend form just fine last week. And, only admins have access to this form to answer the permission question.

Then you need to find out what has changed in your installation. I know there has been a security update from WordPress. Did you update other parts of the site? E.g. perhaps a country blocker that prohibits access. You need to check the settings from your plugins to find which plugin generates the warning.

Unless you are using the block direct access feature, then it is not likely that any Media Library Folders scripts are running on the front end. And when uploading files, our hook for adding files to folders database table does not fire until after a file is uploaded.
