Uploading Office 2007 Files

  • My site utilizes several ms office documents which are uploaded into the “gallery” and then placed to in the post via a link. However, Office 2007 files (docx, pptx, xlsx) don’t meet the security guidelines. How do I fix this? Hopefully there’s an easy plugin that can be installed or something of that nature.

    Q. I can’t upload certain file types and get message “File type does not meet security guidelines. Try another”
    A. Unknown file extensions are ‘blocked from uploading’. New extensions and their icons can be added via changes to the functions wp_check_filetype and wp_ext2type in wp-includes/functions.php.

    That’s definitely my problem. I don’t know php code though so I’m not sure how to fix it. Is there a way to turn off the filetype check so I can upload any file from now on?
