Uploading photos on posts and pages

I am using www.ads-software.com at work for a photo blog for my study abroad students. I’m trying to get the blog launched but in the testing, I find that we aren’t able to upload photos to posts or pages. I have used both browsing and drag and drop and neither work. I either get a blank screen or a message that says http error. The photos are jpeg format, so they should be fine. I searched for “uploading photos” before posting this, but I don’t find anything that addresses this. Thanks for your help. I use WordPress.com at home and I don’t have this problem with it.
