• Uploaded two themes today. Into the “wp-content/themes” folder. But when I go back to the wordpress admin to assign one of the themes as the actual design, they won’t be shown.

Is there something else I have to do, than just uploading the theme folders? I’ve checked the folder rights on the server to assur that it has the same rights than the standard themes, but I can’t find a mistake…

    Any help, please?

    Cheers,
    xRx

  • Hi xREDDX:

I am trying to do the same…do you know where the wp-content/themes” folder is? I have looked through my root directory and am clearly missing it…

First you have to detect the folder where you have installed your WordPress to. For example: “WordPress” or “WP”.

In that folder (not in your server root!) should be a folder called “wp-content” – and in this folder… “themes”.

Good luck – hope you’ll not have the same problems than me. ??

First, thanks for the vids. But the thing is: this is exactly the way I’ve uploaded the themes and it doesn’t work for me.

No nested folders, no spaces in the folder name,… ok, I didn’t use filezilla but this shouldn’t be the problem ??

I’m using WP 2.5.1 (yes, I know – old version – serverside install by my provider – everything works fine but I can’t upload themes or plugins) and, as ftp tool, fire ftp.

    Any other ideas…? :/
