Uploading vs Custom URL..

I have uploaded files via ftp, they are considerable in size in F4V format. The playlist is not showing up, says there is no playlist ive used the following tags

[categoryvideothumb type=category id=8] – where 8 is the id of my uploaded video.

[hdvideo id=18] – where 8 is the id of my video

Not sure how to resolve this. Id like to upload the file but it times out
so ftp is a must but then i need to use the custom url. Based on how i typed it out it seems exact. Is there a folder i should be placing these videos in for it to work?
