    Hi,

This is probably a very familiar thread but I have tried all possible solutions found on this forum with no luck.

I have a brand new wordpress installing that I have just uploaded to a clients site. I firstly tried to upload my theme , where I was given an error ‘The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads.’ I manually uploaded the theme but now have the same problem when it comes to installing plugins and uploading media.

I have checked file permissions, and changed the w-content aswell as the uploads folder to 777 and then back to 755 and nothing seems to work.

I am truely stuck as to what to try next because it is pretty hopeless when I cant install the theme options plugin.

    Any help much appreciated?

    thanks

Is the /wp-content/uploads directory owned by the same user as all other directories/files on the server?

If you user something like FileZilla you’ll see on the far right hand column the Owner/Group details.
