• Hello all,

This should be simple and I’ve done this before but for some reason it’s not working for a blog hosted by sourceforge.
I have wp-content with 755 and I’ve mkdir wp-content/uploads and chmoded it to 755, still, I get the upload error message :

Unable to create directory /home/groups/s/sa/satscheme/htdocs/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/04. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

whenever I try to upload something. ??

    Here’s a bit more info:

    -bash-3.00$ ls -lad wp-content/
    drwxr-xr-x 5 pdestroy satscheme 4096 Apr 5 10:17 wp-content/
    -bash-3.00$ ls -lad wp-content/uploads/
    drwxr-xr-x 2 pdestroy satscheme 4096 Apr 5 10:17 wp-content/uploads/

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Paulo Matos

  • wp-content needs to be set to 777 or assign the ownership of wp-content to the webserver.

…and once you set it to 777, you upload an image via WordPress, then be sure to change it back to 755 ?? Don’t leave it at 777.
