• Hi,
    I’m using version 0.6.1 of the plugin and the S3 uploads suddenly stopped working over night. I have the ACL fix for the old version in place, i have tried with and without it. There are no errors that i can see.

    Files are uploaded locally to the server and the url points to the local server. Files are never to be seen in the S3 bucket. Old files are present and work correctly.

    What gives?

    Do you have the two checkboxes checked off in the settings?

    [ ] Copy files to S3 as they are uploaded to the Media Library
    [ ] Point file URLs to S3/CloudFront for files that have been copied to S3

    They’re both checked. I believe they should be?

    I have the same problem on three separate sites, both run on Amazon OpsWorks. Same WordPress and plugin version.

    Is there anything showing up in your error log? That’s where silent errors are recorded.

    You may need to turn on WP_DEBUG_LOG in your wp-config.php. The errors then show up in /wp-content/debug.log by default. More details at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Debug

    Hi,
    I got the following in the log:

    [03-Oct-2013 08:45:02 UTC] Error uploading /srv/www/site/releases/20130925144505/public/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/iPadSpringboard.png to S3: The bucket you are attempting to access must be addressed using the specified endpoint. Please send all future requests to this endpoint: “static.ourdomainhere.com.s3.amazonaws.com”.

    Has something changed on Amazon side? Anything we can do, or is it something for you to fix?

    Apparently it has to do with the bucket not being in the US Standard region, which is the only region I’ve currently tested with. Here’s the details:

    I had this issue a long time ago with the old plugin. Could it be that you forgot about it when you rewrote the plugin, and we didnt upload any images since the update?

    Further to this, the problem definitely appears to be related to the region. I just tried to set everything up using Ireland as my region and nothing was working. I’ve now set up a new bucket in the standard US region and it’s all fine.

    I’m switching to this plugin from W3 Total Cache because it was a bit overkill for just managing my CDN stuff (which is mainly what I used it for.)

    I love the simplicity of this plugin, but would be great if we could use buckets in other regions.

    If I get a moment I’ll have a look myself but hopefully you’ll figure it out before I get a moment!
