Upper limit in the number of users

  • Is there an upper limit in the numnber of users in a pool where the plugin (or the website) would stop working reliably?

    We’ve had far more traffic than we initially anticipated. So we’re getting a little worried about scalability.

    I don’t know ?? What amount of participating users are you talking about?

    I think the site will keep working (i’ve seen it working with 2000+ users). Calculations in the admin will take some time, though.

    If you have some figures, would you mind sharing them with me? Would love to know.

    We’re at about 1000 now but we’re doing a lot of advertisement. We had over 600 new users since yesterday and our ads are still up, so we expect a lot more users too.

    Then maybe you should consider a contingency plan or a cap on users ??

    In my experience not all users are active, so you could also consider removing inactive users after a few days.

    That’s an excellent suggestion, I can remove the inactive users from the pool. Many thanks.

    I’m in the same expectation. We currently have 1450 users. Tomorrow is the big day, I hope everything works fine. thanks for this magnificent plugin.

    We’ve passed 2000 users, everything still works flawlessly.

    How long does it take to calculate the ranking in your project?

    It’s been here about 40 minutes. We currently have 1,750 participants (and 5 different rankings, which I believe will make it take longer than usual).

    We now have 3000 participants but a single ranking. It took about 4 minutes to calculate the scores and ranking when I entered the Argentina – Iceland result.

    I think it’s going to take a lot longer when we get to later stages.
