    Hello UR Slider Community,

I’ve looked at so many sliders and slideshow add-ons, and UR seems best suited to my needs!

My website currently has a static banner image. I want an Add-on that will allow me to gently cycle through a number of variations of the banner.

I’ve created my first Test slider with UR slider, chosen FADE as the transition, and now I have these questions.

    1. Can I adjust the speed of the Fade transition? It’s to short (too fast). I’m guessing it’s .5 second or less transition, I’m looking for something more like a 2 sec transition. Would need a setting to fine tune.

    2. In my test slider, during each transition, there’s a subtle flash effect – the image gets briefly brighter as though “fade to white”. It’s fast, but it interrupts what I want to be a visually smooth transition.

Anything I should know to achieve control over these transition issues? Otherwise, UR Slider could be the one!

    Thanks so much,
    Lance

    Hey Lance,

    Thanks for appreciating our efforts.

Here is the quick solution to your problem:

    Follow the screenshot – https://prnt.sc/X5XLvh8EIkuP

    1. Go to the Tools > Plugin File Editor menu

    2. Select “Ultimate Responsive Image Slider” plugin from the list and click on the “Select” button.

    3. Select the “layout.php” file for the plugin files list.

    4. Add the following code line same as the screenshot: fadeDuration: 2000,

    5. Click on the “Update File” button and it’s done.

Note: here 2000 is the fade duration in milliseconds.

I hope this will fix both issues, Maybe a fast transition making it brighter, and adding more fading time will remove that effect.

Let me know if everything is fine.

    Thanks

    Hi Frank!

Editing the plug in was a breeze thanks to your detailed instructions. Thank you!

I changed the transition to 2000 millsecs and that transition speed is what I was hoping for.

However, the “brightening” of the image during the transition remains an issue. My intent is to show a number of nearly identical banner designs with only a small detail changing for each variation. I don’t want the viewer’s eye to be drawn to the header by animation. I only want to quietly change the version without them noticing. In this way, they will see different versions over time, without the animation pulling them out of the rest of the page’s content.

I think you want like that: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/12104988

In that case, I have set: fadeDuration: 0,

    Thanks

    Hi Frank,

Ok, I think I understand. If I used any Fade effect I have to live with a brightening during the transition. I’ll have to think about it. FadeDuration 0 is too abrupt.

If you think of a way to modify the fade effect let me know. For now, I may put this idea aside.

May I ask another question? If you look at my website, you’ll see a sidebar widget showing faces of students who have learned to ride.
    https://virtuousbicycle.com/BlogSpace/privatebikinglessons/
(Photo changes every 7 seconds. Caption doesn’t start until 2nd image)

Each photo a small caption appear below the photo. I tried using URS but could not reposition the caption. (See the widget on our test page).

Are there controls for caption position that I did not see?

    Thanks for your continued support.

I’m trying Easy Slider Pro for the dissolves in the header and am getting a smooth transition with no flashing or brighten. I’m having other issues with the plug-in, but I wanted you to see the smooth transition it’s giving me. See the test page. So it is possible in WordPress to have a non-brightening fade transition. Let me know if you’re able to do this in URS!

I would suggest you use my other slider plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/slider-factory/

Meanwhile, I will try to find out the bright fade effect caused in URS.

    Thanks
