Urgent Export/Import Issue

  • When I export, everything seemed to be okay. It said-
    100% Complete (3.12 MB / 3.12 MB) 33 of 33 Tables MigratedShow Tables

    But when I imported it said-

    Import has been successfully finished, 2 queries executed. (wp_brianrobert-migrate-20160715110114.sql)

    The table prefixes seem to be identical.
    What is happening?

  • I don’t know if you ever got an answer to this one – over 9 months ago now I know, but I just found out that this can happen if you are on a MAC using Safari. It may be caused by Safari having the setting ‘Open Safe Files After Downloading’ enabled. So either try another browser or disable the auto-open setting.

    Disabling the setting has just worked for me. I’d nearly torn all my hair out by that point though.

    Thank you so much for posting this. I spent hours repeating and repeating all the directions and listening to the Lynda.com video over and over. What was I missing?

    Hours wasted.

    Finding the open files after downloading option and unchecking it fixed everything.

    Thank you. Saved me another 3 days of frustration.
