• After the upgrade of the plugin and Premium on January 24th to 4.42.0, the post notification emails (890 of them) were sent out as normal from 19:00 hrs but the error log had nearly 70 error messages, either

    “[2024-01-24T20:52:23.124701+00:00] MailPoet.ERROR: The EntityManager is closed. {“error”:”[object] (MailPoetVendor\Doctrine\ORM\Exception\EntityMa…”

    or

There were no errors in the log prior to Jan 24.

History for Jan 24 says “Not yet sent”, but they were.

Sending then did not work on January 25 and has not worked since. No emails at all have been sent yet new posts have been published.

    Key Activation says:

    Your key is valid

    MailPoet Sending Service is active

    MailPoet Premium is active

    System Status says:

    Task Scheduler
    Connection successful.

Connection to the MailPoet Sending Service
    Connection successful.

Sending Queue says the status is “running”.

The last Completed Task was the post notification email send on January 24 which ended at 8:52 pm – this is the time of the last “The EntityManager is closed…” error in the error log. There are no further Task entries.

Please address this problem as a matter of urgency.

A downgrade back to 4.41.3 does not solve the problem for me, as a few others have also said. We have not had any post notification emails sent out in over a week.

This is totally unacceptable MailPoet – fix this.

    Hi there @zimbo000,

Thanks for checking in again. I can see that we have got a ticket open via [email protected], and will be assisting there as much as possible.

Additionally, the other thread where this is being discussed (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/the-entitymanager-is-closed/page/3/), does have some working solutions for other customers, where rolling back both the core and Premium MailPoet plugins has worked.

Can you confirm that you have attempted sending again after rolling back to 4.41.3 of the core MailPoet plugin, and and version 4.41.0 of Premium?

@sverleis – I have rolled back and it is still not working because apparently one needs to delete a ‘stuck’ email somewhere, and I don’t know where. I posted this in the Entity Manager thread but no-one responded with the explicit detail:

Please could someone explicitly state where you delete an email from to free up the queue/process?

Is it the ‘Not sent yet’ email in View History of Post Notifications that I ‘Move to trash’? And do I then need to empty Trash?

Or is it the Post Notification email itself, again ‘Move to trash’?

Or is it something else elsewhere in the plugin?

As the developer is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.
