Hey there! In this Loom, I discuss an issue with the PayPal integration for our WooCommerce payment system. Specifically, the user data is not getting stored, causing subscription renewals to fail. I walk through the steps I’ve taken so far and show examples of failed renewal orders. I’m hoping to find a solution to this problem as we’re losing a significant amount of money. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello @intrapreneurat

Thanks for the video. At first glance, it seems the problem may be due to the absence of the Woo Subscriptions?plugin.

It will be great if you could share your current System Status Report. You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button.

Please provide those log entries on our PrivateBin. After uploading, paste here the link, so we can review them in detail.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian

    Thank you!

Well we are working with the YITH Subscription instead of Woo Subscription, but they say it must work with your plugin as well ??

Here is the report, I hope it helps..

    Hello?@intrapreneurat

Thank you for the report, it clarifies some points.

This issue arises when Reference Transactions are not activated on your PayPal merchant account.

    PayPal Vault enabled: –

    Reference Transactions: –

Without this feature, it’s impossible to store PayPal account details of buyers in the Vault. This limitation inhibits automatic renewal payments as subscriptions. To avoid payment failures during renewals, our plugin is designed to fail the subscription signup process if the payment information can’t be saved. This not only leads to failures during renewals.

It’s worth noting that acquiring approval for Reference Transactions can be challenging. We recommend either following?the guide in our documentation?or?contacting PayPal Merchant Support?for help with enabling Reference Transactions for your subscription-based business.

Well we are working with the YITH Subscription instead of Woo Subscription, but they say it must work with your plugin as well?

While our plugin doesn’t officially support this plugin, and I can’t offer a direct solution, one alternative is using PayPal Subscriptions. However, based on your video, it seems this option isn’t supported by YITH as you weren’t able to select it. From your recording:

When the Woo Subscriptions plugin is active, you have field called “Subscriptions mode” and you can choose an alternative option called “PayPal Subscriptions“, even if Reference Transactions are not available. You can learn more about it in our Subscriptions FAQ.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian
