    Hi,

I activated this Really Simple SSL plugin as part of site migration to HTTPS a few days ago.

Turned out I didn’t need it.

I went to deactivate it so it wouldn’t cause problems later on.

Instead of selecting the checkbox and removing the plugin, I misclicked and hit “deactivate and return to HTTP” setting.

This bricked the site and now we cannot access our WP login page!!

We use a plugin to hide it from default URL, and now that page is not working.

How can I reset the URL for that page, or find out what it has changed to????

    PLEASE HELP!

    Brad

I have changed the home and the site url back to HTTPS, but that did not fix the issue.

I am majorly stressed out right now, I need to fix this asap!!

I’m assuming your site url already was https when you activated Really Simple SSL?

When you activate the plugin, it changes your home and site url to https, and the dynamic mixed content fixer is activated. If you deactivate it, the site url and home url are changed back to http. The mixed content fixer will not be active anymore, as the plugin is not active.

As you have deactivated the plugin, and changed the url back to https, all changes by Really Simple SSL have been reverted. Unless you have the site url hardcoded in your functions.php or in your wp-config.php of course, in that case you need to check that too.

Possibly you need to clear your browser cache, or try in a different browser.

If the plugin which hides your default url is not working, you might consider renaming the plugin folder through FTP, so it defaults to the wp login page.

Thank you so much, that plus turning cloudflare back on, plus renaming the plugin seemed to work.

Thank you so much for your speedy response. I greatly appreciate your help.

    Thanks!
