Siteurl changed cant access admin now

Change them back – I’d suggest this method:

No access to admin till now. Can it be a server issue as well?

I’ve seen it take a bit of time to “work” but not like 2 hours. Where is WP installed? What did you put in the functions.php file to change those back?

Been 2 days no change at all.

update_option(‘siteurl’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk/home’);
update_option(‘home’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk’);

If the site files are still in the same place:

https://effectivefx.co.uk/home

Then both of those need to be set to that location:

update_option(‘siteurl’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk/home’);
update_option(‘home’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk/home’);

thanks but here are the measures I have undertake nso far
updated via phpmyadmin, still no change.

public_html directory > home > wp-admin (and other folders)

wordpress is installed in home sub-directory

trying to access https://effectivefx.co.uk/home/wp-login.php

the page states that “This webpage has a redirect loop”

Tried editing htaccess files (redirection to subriectory and solutions found by googling) on root and dsiabled the one in sub-directory, but no changes. Can’t install fresh version. Please assist ??

Try removing your .htaccess file – copy it to your local computer.

Then try this again – in the active theme’s functions.php file:

update_option(‘siteurl’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk/home’);
update_option(‘home’,’https://effectivefx.co.uk/home’);

Make a new .htaccess file with just the minimum in it:

https://codex.www.ads-software.com/htaccess

BTW, I’m just trying to help you get your site working again in the original configuration. THEN you can start over on changing it.

Still no success ??

I have removed the htaccess from both root and sub-dir
then added basic htaccess to sub-dir

Also checked the domain management for any forwarding/redirects, but no redirects. The site is running on a IIS server with linux installed (I think using VM or something like wamp).

Please help me.. I am going nuts ??
