• Today a reader/friend (who blogs on blogger) messaged me to say she tried to comment on a blog post but it took her to my DASHBOARD logged in as ME!! It even said, “Howdy, Kate” at the top and she couldn’t log out.

I changed my password and deleted all the cache, but I’m a little freaked out about this. I have no idea if it is somehow accessible to the entire public.

PLEASE help me with this immediately.

  • Had either of you ever previously been logged in with your account on her computer? Also, does someone have to be logged in at your site in order to comment or can any passerby do that?

Anyone can comment but no, we live in different states and she has never had a login to my account or computer or wordpress install.

If I had your problem, I would likely first try to duplicate it to see exactly where I landed at the Dashboard, then replace the keys and the MySQL user and password in wp-config.php after setting that new user up at the server. I do not know how adding a comment could lead to a logged-in state, but the keys are part of making logged-in possible.
