I had a functional multisite which i needed to downgrade to a single install. I’ve done this before following an online article however this time my site is showing 404 permanently. The URL is appearing twice (hence the 404) thus:
    https://mysite.net/https://mysite.net

When i remove the second entry in the URL, the content displays correctly. There seems to be corruption in the URLs somewhere. the original tutorial is on Kinstas’ website here:
    https://kinsta.com/blog/wordpress-multisite-to-single-site/#how-to-revert-an-entire-multisite-network-to-a-single-site

All steps have worked before and ive cleared and reset the sites permalinks several time and let WP rewrite the .htaccess file The main changes; .htaccess, wp-config, all the db stuff went without a hitch. I’m reading that it could be the vhosts file which i have no access to on shared hosting.

Has anyone had this issue before?

[solved] – reset permalinks again and cleared cache a few more times with my caching plugin. All OK
