• Hi,

I have installed and import my posts to the new installed wordpress.
    I have two problems now:
    1) pictures in the some of posts are not being displayed.
    2) when i click a post, it forwards me to my another domain.

I have contacted to my hosting company and they told me that there is nothing there they can help. its something about wordpress.

    please help me,
    thx,

  • This is probably happening to the content you put in the WordPress editor on the back-end. When you import posts, it keeps the paths to links and images the same. You need to replace the existing links to sites/pages/images with new ones.

If you only have a few posts, go one by one through and update them. If you have many, you can do a search-and-replace through MySQL by updating the posts and options tables. I’m sure there are also plugins to do this, but you’ll have to look around. I always do the MySQL search-and-replace.

    well, thank you for explanation but;

    1) I dont want to deal with picture problems if i reinstall wordpress in the future again, so i want to know what causes this.
    2) when i investigate the permalinks, i can see my primary domain there but still when you click the post, it goes somewhere different.

Also, i dont have any information about MySQL etc, because i installed it just a pressing a button on my hosting company’s dashbord.

If you are changing urls and importing posts, you will run into this every time. It won’t happen if you’re reinstalling WordPress to the same URL, but will happen if you’re changing URLs.

Can you post a link so I can check it out?

As previously explained, all images & attachments are stored in the database with their full urls. so when you move WordPress, you need to change all of those urls. See Moving_WordPress.

yes, i figued it out just a moment ago.
because of the attachment urls, when i click the post/pic, it was forwarding to the previous version/domain and i am replacing those urls now.

(sensino.com is the url we are talking about)

    thx all.
