I need to be able to have URLs with 3 or more digits in them, and the digits need to change. Google News won’t accept sites without this. Using postid works, except I don’t have enough blog entries yet to be over the 3 digits (obviously would need over 100 posts.

Ideas of suggestions? Or is there a hack that would do this?

    bump – help please?

If you have direct access to the MySQl Database, you might be able to make a test post(short one that doesn’t mean anything) go into the database, and change the postid, from then on WordPress SHOULD start making the ID’s go from that number.
OR, you can try going into Options > Permalinks > then set them to Custom > /index.php/1%post_id%

That should append a one to every URL.
Other than that, i don;t know of a direct workaround as you ask.

I added numbers to a post in MySQL and it seems to work. Thanks!
