URL not working

Hi,

So, yeah, the script in the URL is taking too long – the default timeout for fetching the results are, I believe 5 seconds. I could add a feature in the next release so that you can vary this but, tbh, if it’s taking more than 5 seconds to fetch that URL, it’s only likely to slow down your site – I’d look at the cause of the URL slowdown.

Are you able to share it?

I’m still not having any luck even using https://www.example.com/code.php as the target URL.

This results from the custom field approach where CODE1 is the field name, https://www.example.com/code.php is the field value and {{CODE1}} is entered in the page.

If I instead use {{https://www.example.com/code.php}} the page hangs and doesn’t display anything. I’ve tried altering the Opening and Closing identifiers with the same result.

Ok, well https://www.example.com/code.php isn’t valid so that isn’t going to work. Do you have a valid URL to try?

Thanks again for the response. I have changed the URL to “https://www.columbia.edu/~fdc/sample.html” with the same result.

May I ask why “https://www.example.com/code.php” isn’t valid? This is the URL from the “URL EMBEDDING” documentation of your plugin and it returns html. . .

I’ve tried that URL on my own test site and it works fine.

Are you seeing any error in the JavaScript console?

Because it was literally an example of a URL rather than a working example. I’ll change that in future.
