url of shop gets translated by language switch

Hi,
I have my woocommerce shop installed in a subdomain.
Polylang and the language switcher work fine.
But when I am in the German shop:
https://www.shop.domain.com/shop
and want to change the language to french (or english) the url is translated.
Instead of
https://www.shop.domain.com/magasin for french and
https://www.shop.domain.com/store for english
it changes to
https://www.magasin.domain.com/magasin or
https://www.store.domain.com/storeA wrong url of course leads to a wrong or not existing page.
Why is the url translated? Is that a Woocommerce problem? How can I repair that?
