URL problems with BuddyPress Portfolio

Same misery here..
And also why it is “required” and can not be changed ??

And one more wish,
In another thread the author of the plugin says, it can be changed by hand in through the code. How?

I don’t know why it is required either but any user can add this URL as
https://www.DOMAINNAME.com/members/MEMBERNAME/portfolio/
so that each project will be linked to his/her portfolio page.
