URL question

    Good morning,
    I currently have our live (not wordpress) site at https://www.livesite.com

    I am in the process of building our new site in wordpress at https://www.testing.com (a different server from our live site)

    I will be going with a new hosting provider/server once we are ready to launch the new wordpress site.

    How do I coordinate all this? I still need the url to be https://www.livesite.com – but I can’t give it that url until the day we make the switch. I would like to move the site off the testing server to the new hosting pretty soon, but it won’t/can’t have our url.

    Is it just a matter of giving it an ip address for now, than somehow changing the url once we are ready to go live?
