URL rewrite or search on id number

    I have setup a search on one field, which is a unique tag number that a customer will receive. They create a profile (name,address etc) as well as enter their unique tag number.

    I have got the search function working, eg. enter tag number 987654 and it brings up their information.

    What I would like to do is preprint tag/id numbers for example https://www.lostpaws.co.za/tag/987654 and when a user enters this URL or scans a qr code of this URL it takes them to a page that performs the search on the id 987654 and returns the info linked to this id.

    Using the: ?search_field=tag_id_number&value=987654&submit=search I was able to achieve this but this is quite untidy to use.

    So far this plugin is exactly what I need but I am stumbling at this last hurdle. Thanks

    Well, I can’t give you the details, but something like this is possible with the correct .htaccess configuration on your Apache server.
