URL Shortcut Form Field

  • I simply need a widget or short-code that will enable a user to enter a code into a form field and that code is the actual page name.

    So, URL at xyz.com/123 is the page name. User goes to main page at xyz.com and enters “123” in a form field and submit and it jumps to that xyz.com/123 page. It should be simple enough but I’m have writers block on this one!

    I have not come across a plugin that can accomplish this task however it might exist.

    *Some* guidance:

    Write a simple plugin
    Write a function that contains your form
    Write the processing code: get the user input , add a redirect
    Create the shortcode

    Use the shortcode wherever you need it ??
