Hello. Your plugin works smoothly but, strangely, when another plugin called Geo Mashup tries to get via the loop -> the_permalink() the URL of each download to position it on a World Map, it generates something like this:

    https://nonkilling.org/center/?post_type=dlm_download&p=3253

and it goes to a 404 error.

We’ve also tried to change it to

    https://nonkilling.org/center/?p=3253

and it doesn’t work either, nor with

    https://nonkilling.org/center/download/3253

(This one takes you to the “Download does not exist. Go to homepage →” page.)

If that plugin can’t get the correct permalink (don’t know why), isn’t there a way to refer to the download via the postID that actually works for Download Monitor? What should be the correct plain URL for each of them having their ID?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Have similar error. I’m getting 404 error after adding SSL to my page and also a GDRP plugin.

    Hello,

Our plugin generates the URL’s dynamically and it cannot be accessed any other way. If you modify anything, then I would suggest going to the “Settings > Permalinks” menu and click “Save” and test again.

Oh, it’s frustrating and very limiting! :-/

Then, I guess the only way to fix that problem with the links created by Geo Mashup plugin would be to create a redirection map, but that would mean to update the map each time a new download is created! ??

Any suggestion about a better fix?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I apologize for the late reply. I regret to say we do not have a better fix for this. You might need to get a 3rd party developer to create an automated solution for this.
